1. BENT THANH MARKET

If you’re looking for a lot of choices under one roof, here is where you should stop. This place offers you variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes, where else is a good starting point than a place where you can taste one’s culture am I right? Its been said that you need to taste the culture to understand. 

Other than good food, you can also find cheap stuff here. Girlssss polish your bargaining skill before coming here, it’s a battle field! Hahaha be prepared to bargain and haggle with the shop owner. The fun part is when you get to buy cheaper than the asking price. A great pit stop if you’re in HCM. Ohh one more thing, don’t forget to try the famous Vietnam coffee while you’re there. 

2. MEKONG RIVER

This tour will allow you to feel the rural culture of Vietnam. It is quite far from the city and boat is the main transport here, so take a tour with a boat ride along Mekong River. Experience the hand rowing sampan. You can see a lot of people selling foods from their boats, to me this is what makes Mekong River so special. 

There’s also an island here where you can learn abt the life of farmers and their local fruits. Then, learn how coconut candies are made. This place is known for their coconut candy so make sure to have some before you leave. Okay! Make sure to try their honey tea too. 

3.  CHU CHI TUNNEL

Chu Chi Tunnel was used to fight against Americans during a war. You can explore the tunnel to see their incredible tunnel system. This is sort of their hideout from the Americans back then. In the tunnel there’s an underground kitchen, water wells, hospitals, food supplies and even school. Anyone visiting Ho Chi Minh definitely have to come here. You can also experience a gun shoot with some extra money of course.

4.  HO CHI MINH CITY

If you’re going on a sight-seeing tour in the city, these are the list of outstanding buildings in Saigon. The Reunification place (Dinh Thống Nhất), The City Hall (Ủy ban nhân dân Thành phố), The Municipal Theatre (Nhà hát thành phố), and the Notre-Dame Cathedral (Nhà thờ Đức Bà).

5.  WAR REMNANTS MUSEUM

This is currently the most famous museum in Vietnam. Most museum we visited are careful in dealing with sensitive issue while presenting facts. But, exhibits in this museum contain a heavy dose of anti-American propaganda and they do portray the horrors of war. Sounds interesting isn’t it?
